Located in the beautiful Snowdonia countryside, Ty Afon is one of those venues that just feels magical the moment you arrive. In October 2025, I had the pleasure of DJing for Chloe & Connor, a couple who wanted their evening to be filled with pure fun, sing-alongs, and a load of cheesy party tunes.
Chloe & Connor knew exactly what they wanted from their wedding party! A lively mix of cheese, 00s throwbacks, R&B, and classic party anthems. Their first dance set the tone for the night, “Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now” by Starship.
Straight after the father-and-daughter dance, the couple had one request that summed up their energy perfectly… A full-on conga line! Within seconds, guests were weaving through Ty Afon, a moment that perfectly captured the atmosphere they wanted.
For Chloe & Connor’s wedding, I provided uplighting throughout Ty Afon’s reception space, adding extra warmth and depth to the room. The lighting created a great backdrop for both the dancing and the photo moments.
Everything ran smoothly thanks to Emma & the team at Ty Afon, who were fantastic to work with. Special mention also goes to Perfectly Planned By Helen, who coordinated the day seamlessly, the timing, flow, and organisation made my part of the evening effortless.
Just when everyone thought the night couldn’t get any more memorable, Storm Amy caused a power cut during the final half hour of the night. But that didn’t stop us. We kept the music going using battery-powered uplights and a small Bluetooth speaker, proof that nothing can stop a great wedding crowd once the party starts!
Even with limited power, the guests kept dancing, singing, and celebrating with the same energy right until the end. Sometimes, those unexpected moments end up being the ones that people talk about for years.
Chloe & Connor’s wedding at Ty Afon was the perfect mix of laughter, music, and personality. It’s always a pleasure to work with couples who want their night to reflect who they are, and this one truly did.
